BOWLIG GREEN, Ky. – A local resident invited some members of the community for a celebration fit for a princess.

On Saturday, a princess tea party graced Bowling Green.

Bowling Green resident Kerprecia Bullard celebrates her birthday with an event that is open to women and girls of our special needs population.

At least 20 girls signed up to participate this year.

Former state Rep. Patti Minter was the special guest this year, announcing the parade of honorees.

This is the second year for this kind of event from Bullard, with her last birthday being an open invitation to a princess ball.

“We’re just hoping that they will connect and make friends, which is what it’s all about, and just have a good time and just know that they are special and that they are loved,” Bullard’s mother, Felicia Bland, says.

While organizers say they aren’t sure what next year’s princess get-together will look like, they say they’re sure to come back and continue encouraging local girls.
